 Wondering about internet access in belize.  We have an internet based business and would like to continue there, but am wondering if there is such thing as satellite based internet (for areas without cell coverage), we even get spotty service with AT&T here in TN.  I have tried investigating this before, and came up with nothing.  Surely this exists right?  Thanks for any help. 

Yes, you have to take that passports in some special travel to out side.

Mail service is dependable in the fact that it usually reaches its destination... the timing is slightly unpredictable. I have had really good success up until recently, when things have taken a month to get here from the States, usually shorter from here to the States. 

 It is considerably cheaper to send from Belize to the States, than the other way around, which is quite expensive!

I sent a letter to Belize Bank the first week of October and still haven't heard anything. After I sent it, I was told mail takes at least a month.

The problem with Belize is that it is really small and overall the people are very poor. The economy is dependent on tourism which over the next few years will continue to dwindle. Their currency is tied to the USD, so as the dollar continues to depreciate, the effect will not be good. There is a lot of crime and the inclination is to keep the people disarmed. That makes it a pretty scary place. 

However, the same banking cartel that is bankrupting the U.S. has already devastated most third world nations and will continue to wreak havoc around the globe. The New World Order is making life difficult. 

So it is imperative that we consider not only what things are like now but what they may be like as this global financial mess continues to accelerate along with big oppressive government restricting more and more freedom. People can get very nasty if they are hungry and you have food. It might be that a top priority a long with self sufficiency should be safety, that is, being able to defend yourself. It seems to me, the bigger the group we can get to live close to each other, the better.

There are people in Ecuador and Panama starting small expat communities, but no Christians that I know of.
