If you are talking about the first year before you can establish residency, we aren't sure? From what we can find: You have to live there a year before you can get a residence permit which means some how you have to have an income during this year plus be able to meet all the little things they are going to "nickle and dime you to death" with during that year- if they do because they may not? They also require that you have 2000 dollars a month deposited into your account while you are trying to establish your residence so that they know your not going to be a burden to them - how to earn this while you can't take in an income, we haven't figured out yet?How we would like to make a living there: we are strongly looking at the agriculture side of things. We would like to start a cattle ranch. There are still a few things that we haven't figured out yet. Like how much is a cow down there and how many cows can you have per acre? We haven't found a site yet that gives us a good answer. Other than my husband found that they do have a rodeo there!! :-) From what we can find - a ranch is not just "cows" it also has a certain amount of fruit and veggies - coconuts, avocados, mango's, etc. Having a permanent residency doesn't mean that you give up your US citizenship which is good to know. Than there is still the issues of having to pay taxes - theirs and U.S.? |
